ANNOUNCING THE DEFINED KING JAMES BIBLE

We at the Bible For Today offices are pleased to announce the completion of what we consider to be the most important publication in our 27-year history! It is the KING JAMES BIBLE without any alteration in the text. In the footnotes, the words that have changed their meanings since 1611, are defined clearly. Mr. D.A. Waite, Jr. has spent hundreds of hours in this laborious task.

THE SPECIFICATIONS. There are two editions of the Defined King James Bible. There is a LARGE PRINT edition, which has extra large type (12 point) and wide side margins for making notes. There is also a MEDIUM PRINT edition, which has 10 point type and measures a convenient 6 X 8 inches. Both are bound in genuine leather and are shrink-wrapped in a nice gift box. The Defined King James Bible contains an introduction defending the Masoretic Hebrew text and the Textus Receptus Greek text underlying the King James Bible. It also incorporates a plan for reading the Bible through in one year.

NO MORE EXCUSES. We are often asked about the words that have changed their meaning since 1611 when the Authorized Version was first printed. The DEFINED KING JAMES BIBLE removes this argument from people. They will have no more excuses. They do not have to consult their dictionaries for meanings, or any other source. They need only to look at the bottom of the column in their own Bible. Several meanings are right there to give them all the understanding they might need. With this BFT Bible, churches can continue to have a unity when they read their King James Bibles as a congregation.

HELP FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGES. We are also often asked about a Bible for foreign language students who have come from another country and do not know much English. I have always recommended the King James Bible because it is the most accurate translation from the proper Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. But now, I can also say that there is extra help with the words defined in the footnotes to aid them with difficult terms they do not understand.

YOU CAN TRUST THE DEFINITIONS. Some have told me that they don't need any other Bible, because their own Bible has some definitions in the margin. But, can you trust these definitions? They might be from the wrong Hebrew or Greek text. They might be misleading for other reasons. The Defined King James Bible on the other hand, has been researched with hundreds of hours of study by Mr. D. A. Waite, Jr. He knows very well the use of the computer and has been a teacher in a Christian school since 1971, teaching English, Bible, and other subjects. He has made use of sound English dictionaries, and, in some instances, has consulted the Hebrew or Greek words if necessary.
